Accessibility
Calebonne is for everyone
Our commitment
Calebonne, LLC wants every shopper to be able to scan a product, read its score and understand why, whatever assistive technology they use. We design and test for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on the website and for Apple's accessibility guidelines in the app, and we treat an accessibility problem as a bug to be fixed, not a request to be considered.
What we do on the website
Every page has a skip link, a single main landmark, one heading hierarchy and named navigation regions. Every control works with a keyboard and shows a visible focus ring; nothing depends on hover alone. Text colours meet at least 4.5:1 against their backgrounds in both the day and night themes, and a score is always shown as a number and a word, never as a colour alone. Images carry text alternatives or are marked decorative. Fonts are served from our own domain and the page can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content. Animation respects your "reduce motion" setting; nothing autoplays with sound; there are no time limits, no CAPTCHAs and no flashing content.
What we do in the app
Every button, row and control carries a VoiceOver label and role, including the scanner, the score ring (read as "Calebonne Score 72 out of 100, Good" followed by the reasons), the swaps and the Friends & chats screens. Text follows your Dynamic Type size, Reduce Motion turns off the celebration and transition animations, haptics are optional, and colour is never the only carrier of meaning. If you cannot use the camera, every product can be found by typing its name or barcode into search. Account deletion, data export and subscription management are available inside the app without calling anyone.
Known limitations
The animated wordmark on the launch screen keeps a fixed size (it is decorative; the app name is announced). Product photos come from manufacturers and public databases and do not carry descriptions beyond the product's brand and name, which is what we announce. Messages and photos in Friends & chats are written by other people and may not be accessible. We are working through these; tell us if one blocks you.
Tell us, and we fix it
If any part of Calebonne is hard to use with a screen reader, a switch, voice control, magnification or anything else, email support@calebonne.com with "Accessibility" in the subject, the page or screen, and the assistive technology you use. We answer within 5 business days, prioritise accessibility fixes in the next release, and provide any document on this site in an alternative format on request.
How we check
The website is checked with an automated audit (labels, landmarks, heading order, keyboard focus, contrast in both themes) before every release and with keyboard-only navigation and VoiceOver on iOS. The app is tested with VoiceOver, Dynamic Type at the largest sizes and Reduce Motion before each App Store build. This statement is reviewed with every material change to the site or app.
